How P2P Arbitrage Spreads Are Calculated
P2P arbitrage spreads appear when USDT trades at different premiums in different local markets. OpenRate compares cleaned P2P market prices against spot FX references (ECB/Frankfurter) to estimate where premium gaps exist. Only cleaned ad data is used — raw ads, outlier merchants, and stale listings are excluded before any price is computed.
These spreads are not guaranteed profits. Actual execution depends on liquidity, fees, settlement speed, payment rails, limits, and counterparty risk.
